I'm on a journey to read through the Bible in chronological order. Taking it one day at a time, I will read based on a list I found on the internet and blog about what happened, thoughts provoked, emotions conjured, etc. Enjoy!

Isaiah 59-63

1:3 For your hands are stained with blood,
your fingers with guilt.
Your lips have spoken falsely,
and your tongue mutters wicked things.

What a convicting way to start today's reading. In short, we are scum. We are unable to save ourselves and have done things too numerous to count. But nothing is beyond the reach of God. He sent Jesus to intervene and to take on our sins. I won't even dive into the magnitude of this act--save that for another time.

The rest is all prophesy and the promises to Zion and God's people. No more hurt, the paupers will be kings, etc. Pretty great if you ask me. I think something important to note here is that just becoming a Christian does not mean that we will all of a sudden obtain the greatest riches and be placed next to kings. While we are storing treasures in Heaven, this life will still be filled with pain and struggles, but it's all for God's glory and our benefit. God's promises are wonderful and divine.. you just have to be willing to wait!
