I'm on a journey to read through the Bible in chronological order. Taking it one day at a time, I will read based on a list I found on the internet and blog about what happened, thoughts provoked, emotions conjured, etc. Enjoy!

Day 138: 2 Samuel 22-23, Psalm 57

David sings a song of praise after being delivered yet again. Who is God but God? Who can do what He does? David reflects on these thoughts and just opens his heart up to God. David's life and faith is a true testament to what we should strive for on a daily basis. Sure he sinned just like everyone else, but he knew the redemptive power of faith in God and was tested daily. He often describes himself as being in a pit of lions, having enemies all around us. I know that I have felt like that too many times...feeling like I have no one on my side. David got the fact that God is a shelter, a deliverer. Someone who fights for the underdog and won't let his people fall... what an amazing God we serve!

  1. Amazing indeed. I wish I could get it through my thick skull that if God is for me, does it really matter who all is against me? I'm enjoying your blog! It just goes to show that Scripture is full of life, love, forgiveness...a living God who is incredibly faithful to a broken people.
